Directors Note:

Having spent a significant part of my life in the greater New England area I believe I know a thing or two about people of the region.  The first time I read Almost, Maine I was immediately attracted to it. Although fictitious, Almost is a place that is easily identifiable and its residents provided me with a sense of home.  Northern New England is not only a place, but also, a unique culture.  In the dead of winter northern New England is cold and snowy, quiet and tranquil, introspective and thoughtful.  Written by John Cariani, Almost, Maine is quintessential New England.  Almost, Maine is comprised of eleven short scenes: the “Prologue”, “Her Heart”, “Sad and Glad”, “This Hurts”, “Getting It Back”, “Interlogue”, “They Fell”, “Where It Went”, “Story of Hope”, “Seeing the Thing”, and “Epilogue.” The scenes themselves can be stand-alone stories but Cariani craftily and subtly intertwines them.
